A Cross Dresser’s Guide To Perfect Eyeliner
Once you’ve applied Your eye shadow, you’re ready to shape and Define your eyes using eyeliner.
Although this is an important skill to learn, it’s actually quite tricky to master. Be warned – your patience will be tested!
Having said that, once you’ve figured it Out you’ll wonder what All the fuss was about. It’s one of those things you never forget (like riding a bike).
Eyeliner is available as a pencil, cake (which is applied using a brush) or as a Liquid Liner. Pencil and cake eyeliners give a soft and natural look, whereas liquid liners offer more Precision and a Dramatic look. You may find one easier to work with than the others, but playing around with the options is half the Fun – so don’t hold back!
Choose a color the complements your eye color, as well as your eye shadow. For light colored eyes I would suggest brown, Navy and Charcoal Shades. Brown with Plum shades tend to work better with brown eyes.
When you’re ready to apply eyeliner, make sure you position yourself in front of a good mirror, with plenty of light. I would recommend that you Have a cotton swab and tissues by your side, so that you can quickly rectify any mishaps. If you’re using a Pencil Eyeliner, make sure that it has been sharpened to ensure maximum precision.
Tilt your Head back a little and close the eye that you’re working on, half way. You can keep the other eye open fully, so that you can see what you’re doing.
Draw a line across your upper Eyelid, as close to the Lashes as possible. The line should start at the innermost corner of the eye and extend slightly beyond the outer edge. If you’re using a liquid liner, remember to allow it to Dry a little before opening the eye fully, otherwise you may End up with a nasty mess!
Making the line slightly thicker towards the outer edge of the eye adds lift. Also, if you’ve used a pencil or brush, you can soften the line by smudging it with a cotton swab or your finger.
You can use the same technique to line the lower lid, but be careful not to overdo it. Liquid liner should only really be applied to the upper lid, so switch to a pencil if need be.
Don’t forget, there’s nothing wrong with applying eyeliner only to the upper lid.
Being able to apply eyeliner perfectly is a difficult skill to master, even for a genetic woman. The important thing is not to give up!
